DUNA ARENA INTERIOR DESIGN
When designing the interior spaces of the Duna Arena, the character of the structures, the transparency, the reflections, the interactions between light and water were the starting points for the principles and inspiration of the designers. But, above all, the enormous scale and the strict technical requirements have determined our decisions. The most important goal was to provide a professional infrastructure for the athletes.
The ground of a swimming pool is determined primarily by the support structure, waterworks, building engineering, sport technology and operational aspects. Engineering environments – seemingly controversial – are subject to some fierce lyricality. It is a good idea to use this effect with light effects, surface quality, colour usage, and graphic effects. Unique design elements, applied arts, enrich the use, aesthetic experience and interpretation. Collaboration with artists from other fields of art makes the joint work exciting.
