HOTEL AND APARTMENT HOUSES, ZWEISIMMEN, SWITZERLAND
Zweisimmen is a popular and elegant tourist destination. The guests mostly come here for skiing. The local government wanted to balance winter sales with summer guest nights. However, new services and accommodation options were needed.
The village is situated in a north-south oriented, longitudinal valley, surrounded by the Alps mountain ranges. The sight of high mountains is decisive in all directions and views, rocky brows and snowy peaks give a special emphasis to the mood of the settlement.
The project has two distinct parts in scale and function. In the upper part of the building there is the apartment house of the local “chalet” habitat and the lower part of the building is the hotel. In fact, the two are a single, functionally linked building complex.
