The Archdiocese of Eger intends to carry out a complete monumental renovation of the church. The technical condition of the protected building has significantly deteriorated, and in the history of the building, especially in the recent decades, it has undergone several alterations and interventions that adversely affected exterior and interior appearance of the monument.
In the first phase of the restoration, further damage prevention work is required, included reinforcement of the structure. This is followed by the arrangements of the surroundings of the church and the architectural and interior renovation.
The diverse vaulted ceilings in the building’s interior provide a generous space experience. We also wanted to emphasize this with the planned new lightning.
In the course of interior remodeling, we imagine an interior with clean material use and functionally refined furniture instead of the layers that have been deposited over the decades. The interior wall surfaces get a solid white color, while the floor gets Jura limestone overlay.
